Gun Review: Rossi S201220BS

Been looking at this for quite some time. Anyone know or have one of these. I like being able to have the 12 guage and the 22 in one gun.

I talked a friend into getting a Rossi youth combo for his son. I had a chance to shoot it, and I'd say that accuracy was marginal with the .22 at 50 yards. The worst part was the plastic sights. The screws would not hold them in a place at all. VERY poorly made. If you get one then plan on scoping it, or at the least replacing the sights. If you scope it get the Simmons 22MAG 4x32 for $35 - by far the best value in a .22 scope.

If you want to consider an alternative, get the Mossberg Plinkster semi-auto .22 with 4x32 scope for $130 at Dick's. I think they also have a Rossi or NEF pump shotgun for $180.

Get a similar gun but made by NEF....pretty good quality....better than Rossi. NEF makes a combo package....and you can also get high power rifle and muzzleloader bbl for it....or a rifled slugger bbl.

Don't know that much about Rossi long guns, but their handguns don't exactly have the best reputation. You should be able to do better in a combo gun, but I have to ask why you want one in the first place? They've never made a whole lot of sense to me, as single shot weapons.

Maybe look into getting an over/under with 22 LR and .410. Didn't Savage make some of those?

Still do from what I can remember. I have an older model in .22/20ga. They made a bunch of different combo's over the years. Nice guns and mine is great for squirrels.

You can't even compare these to the Rossi in terms of quality. Rossi are absolute junk (unless ofcourse you have nothing else).

Please avoid Rossi, I've not owned any but have fired a few and handled many at the shop and their quality is about as sub-par as you can get and the thing not explode in your hand. In fact, I fired a Rossi .38 revolver that did come apart after three rounds.

Also, never buy a gun whose model number ends in "BS".

I had a Springfield M6 Scout survival gun (stainless - .22LR/.410). Only gun I truly regret selling. I got $300 for it a couple years back.
